We bring you your daily dose of filthy black thrashing street metal from the Far East. As we trust all of you already know, Abigail is a Japanese black/thrash metal band from Tokyo — and if you somehow didn’t, now you do. The band has dubbed themselves “The Most Evil Band in Japan,” with mastermind Yasuyuki Suzuki calling their style “street metal.” Abigail was formed in January 1992 by Yasuyuki on bass and vocals, Youhei on drums, and Yasunori on guitar, drawing inspiration from early black and thrash acts like Bathory, Venom, Sodom, Bulldozer, and Hellhammer. Their debut album Intercourse & Lust was unleashed in 1996, and the band has since released six full-length studio albums along with a staggering number of EPs, splits, and live records. Their output has been phenomenal — appearing on more than 50 releases in total, including the legendary “Alive… In” series of live albums. Highly recommended for fans of Venom, Bathory, Toxic Holocaust, Midnight, Nunslaughter, Sigh, or any band that treats beer, Satan, and volume as a holy trinity. Japan’s most evil export, certified underground legends.
