Description

MALFORMED draws influence from the eerie atmosphere that early Finnish death metal bands established and made a hallmark of the national scene. Formed in 2022 in the Finnish capital of Helsinki, MALFORMED released their debut demo Uncontrollable Malformity digitally that same year. The demo also led to a record deal and a follow-up EP with Danish underground death metal label Extremely Rotten Productions. The Gathering of Souls, released in 2023, further expanded the band’s international reach and led to several shows outside of Finland. Their only full lenght record thus far is titled “Confinement of Flesh” and it was released in 2025. Confinement of Flesh is a violent blend of classic American death metal—characterized by the brutality and musicianship of the genre’s originators—mixed with the gloominess of their Finnish contemporaries.
